Ellen Shapiro is a partner in Herrick's real estate department, concentrating her practice on real estate finance, hospitality and leasing. Ellen has significant experience in representing borrowers, institutional lenders (in their general portfolios and community lending/tax credit portfolios), sellers, purchasers, hotel owners, hotel franchisors/licensors, hotel management companies, and landlords and tenants in leasing matters.
Her practice extends to all aspects of structuring domestic and cross-border transactions and at every level of the capital stack (equity, mezzanine, mortgage financing). In addition to her real estate-related practice, Ellen represents lenders in asset based lending (ABL) transactions.
Ellen received her J.D. for Fordham University School of Law, where she was Managing Editor of The Urban Law Journal, and her B.A. from Dartmouth College.
