Emil Petrossian

Emil Petrossian is a litigation associate in the Los Angeles office. His practice involves all aspects of civil and commercial litigation in federal and state courts, with a primary focus on entertainment and intellectual property disputes. Mr. Petrossian has represented motion picture studios, record labels, music publishers, production companies, and artists in lawsuits involving a variety of issues, including copyright infringement, idea theft, royalty and contract matters, and investment fraud. He also has extensive experience litigating financial services, product liability, and healthcare disputes. Mr. Petrossian has cross-examined adverse witnesses at trial and has appellate experience in both the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the California Court of Appeal.

Mr. Petrossian is an active member of the community and volunteers his time to such organizations as the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and the National MS Society. In addition to client-billable work, Mr. Petrossian regularly participates in pro bono matters. He has served as lead counsel on behalf of indigent clients in three unlawful detainer actions and a defamation lawsuit, all of which were resolved favorably. Mr. Petrossian also is involved in firm leadership activities and has spearheaded Manatt’s federal law clerk hiring initiative since its inception in 2013.

Before joining Manatt, Mr. Petrossian served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Gary A. Feess in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. During law school, Mr. Petrossian served as the executive editor of the Loyola of Los Angeles Law Review. He also served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Aurelio Muñoz in the Los Angeles County Superior Court.
