Rick Martin has practiced in the corporate, securities, and international fields for more than 20 years. He represents U.S. and foreign companies, family groups, and private equity funds in a variety of corporate transactions including domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and strategic alliances, securities offerings, and private equity transactions. He has participated in numerous transactions throughout Latin America and has assisted Latin American and European companies in setting up operations in the United States. He also has extensive experience advising global corporations in managing their legal matters in Latin America.

Rick's work advising clients on some of the largest and most complex deals has frequently gained recognition from industry publications. Prior to joining Jones Day, he was listed as a finalist for Top Dealmaker of the Year 2012 by the Daily Business Review for his work advising Rowland Coffee Roasters, a privately held company based in Miami and best known for the leading Hispanic brands Café Bustelo® and Café Pilon®, in the sale of its coffee brands and business operations to The J.M. Smucker Company. He was selected Top Dealmaker by the same publication in 2008 for his work advising Arcos Dorados in the $700 million purchase of approximately 1,700 McDonald's restaurants in 17 jurisdictions in Latin America and the Caribbean, which Latin Lawyer magazine also listed as the 2008 Deal of the Year for Latin America.

Rick serves on the board of managers for the Penn Law Alumni Society and as co-chair of the Penn Law Alumni Club of South Florida. He is Administrative Partner of the Miami Office.
