Mr. Chen’s recent experience includes:
Defending a prominent big box retail chain accused of engaging in disability discrimination and retaliation.
Defending a national fast-food restaurant chain accused of discrimination and retaliation under California law.
Representing a local bank accused of withholding commission payments.
Advising a national clothing retail chain on its uniform reimbursement policy.
Serving as pro bono plaintiffs’ counsel in one of seven human trafficking civil lawsuits filed on behalf of Indian nationals in the Eastern District of Louisiana and as part of the largest human trafficking litigation in U.S. history. These cases, against a large marine fabrication company, have been the subject of a feature story by Dan Rather and numerous news articles and editorials.
Before joining the firm, Mr. Chen worked as a Judicial Extern for the Honorable Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California and was a law clerk at an ERISA and employment class action litigation boutique.
During law school he served as a teaching assistant for first-year legal writing and volunteered as a student counselor with the Legal Aid Society-Employment Law Center's Workers' Rights Clinic.
Mr. Chen is fluent in Mandarin Chinese.
