Mr. Franklin has more than 15 years of experience in the field of intellectual property law, including preparing and prosecuting hundreds of patent applications in a variety of technology fields. Mr. Franklin also has extensive experience analyzing patents for a variety of purposes including as preparation for mergers and acquisitions, and the enforcement of patents. As part of his extensive opinion work, Mr. Franklin has provided non-infringement and validity opinions related to patents in various technical areas. Additionally, Mr. Franklin has extensive experience in interference proceedings, licensing, and patent reissues and reexaminations, and in patent and trademark litigation.
Some of the technical areas in which Mr. Franklin has worked include pharmaceuticals; biotechnology; paper making equipment and processes; industrial robotics; medical devices; dental implants; semiconductor devices and their manufacture, including copper plating technology; power generation and transmission equipment, including coal burning and nuclear power plants and high voltage direct current transmission equipment; textile manufacture; automotive technology; aircraft components; spacecraft; waste water treatment; firefighting equipment; and weapons systems.
