Eric Hairston,

a partner in the San Francisco Office, is a member of the Litigation Group. Mr. Hairston's diverse practice encompasses complex civil litigation, government and internal investigations, and representing business clients in federal criminal proceedings. Mr. Hairston also represents clients in regulatory and administrative proceedings before the California Public Utilities Commission. Representation of a large public utility in regulatory proceedings and civil litigation arising from a natural gas pipeline accident.
Representation of officers and employees of various biotechnology companies in connection with government investigations of alleged off-label marketing of pharmaceuticals.
Representation of a senior mortgage lending executive during litigation with the Securities and Exchange Commission, California Attorney General and class action plaintiffs relating to the performance of mortgage-backed securities and other lending and investment products during the financial crisis.
Representation of the audit committee of a large public telecommunications company in connection with an investigation of alleged violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
Representation of a well-known apparel company during civil litigation and negotiations arising from a trademark and licensing dispute.
Representation of domestic and foreign technology companies in connection with civil price-fixing lawsuits and related government investigations.

From 2007-2008, Mr. Hairston worked as an Assistant Federal Public Defender, where he represented indigent defendants accused of federal crimes such as mail and wire fraud, bank fraud, money laundering, and offenses involving narcotics, firearms and immigration. Prior to that, Mr. Hairston was an associate at Orrick from 2003-2007.
