Erik Berglund is an associate in Greenspoon Marder’s Commercial Litigation Group in New York City. Mr. Berglund focuses on general and complex commercial litigation for corporate clients, ranging from start-ups to the largest companies in their respective industries. He also advises clients regarding transactional and risk management practices. He has successfully argued matters at the trial and appellate level in state and federal courts throughout New York and New Jersey.
Mr. Berglund has successfully represented clients in a wide variety of substantive litigation, including real estate, merchandising, licensing, insurance, brokerage, construction, environmental, entertainment, employment, bankruptcy, family, personal injury and even mass tort litigation, He has prevailed on numerous bench trials and motions for summary judgment in multi-million dollar litigation.
Mr. Berglund has also advised clients in connection with a broad range of business transactions, including commercial operating agreements, purchase and sale agreements, commercial real estate leases and riders, licensing agreements, dissolution agreements, restrictive covenants, and employment contracts.
He was born and raised in Bayside, Queens and admitted to the New York Bar in 2004 and the New Jersey Bar in 2014. Mr. Berglund attended The George Washington University Law School on a merit scholarship and graduated with honors in research and writing in 2004. He was recognized on the Dean’s List and obtained a B.A. in Philosophy, Politics and Law from Binghamton University in 2001.
