Frank P. Cote

Frank Coté focuses his practice on patent litigation. His trial experience, technical skill, and business acumen allow him to effectively manage complicated technical cases with an eye towards summary judgment, trial, and achieving client objectives.

Frank has experience in a wide variety of technologies, including computer memory design and packaging, print controllers, variable data printing, digital half toning, power conversion, high-voltage protection circuitry, integrated circuit design and manufacture, display technology, internet security and authentication, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, wireless data transmission, lighting applications, clean power generation, and 3D graphics. His experience includes involvement in arbitrations and several patent trials, including cases before district courts in Texas and California and a hearing before the International Trade Commission. Frank also has assisted clients with IP due diligence, technology licensing, and trademark clearance.

In addition, Frank has experience in complex commercial litigation matters involving contract disputes, insurance coverage, and products liability. And he has experience in immigration law, which he gained through his pro bono efforts.

Before beginning his legal career, Frank served as an officer in the Air Force, where he held positions that honed his technical and managerial skills, including project engineer for Milstar, a multibillion dollar communications satellite system; assistant team leader for the International Space Station program; team leader for the Space Shuttle's Main Engine program; and assistant professor of aerospace studies at the University of California, Los Angeles.

Frank is a member of the Association of Business Trial Lawyers and the Orange County Asian American Bar Association.
