Frankie D. Evans

is an attorney in the firm’s Discovery Center. She has 15 years experience in pre-trial discovery matters in commercial, healthcare, product liability, real estate, toxic tort, and patent litigation, including the representation of financial institutions, financial services, consumer products manufacturers, pharmaceutical companies, and energy clients. Her practice focuses on electronic discovery issues, particularly with respect to the representation of clients in matters of commercial law, employment, contract disputes, intellectual property, product liability litigation and governmental investigations. She has developed particular expertise in managing e-discovery projects in large-scale, multi-jurisdiction litigation. Ms. Evans has been involved in both individual cases and class actions pending in state and federal courts around the country.

Ms. Evans received her J.D. from Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University in 1994. She graduated, magna cum laude, from Paine College with a B.A. in History in 1991. Ms. Evans is an attorney in King & Spalding’s Atlanta office and is admitted to practice in Texas and Georgia. She is also admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Georgia. She is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, The State Bar of Texas, the American Bar Association, the Atlanta Bar Association and the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys.

Ms. Evans’ experience includes:

Assisted in developing a searchable database of written discovery responses and objections reflecting hundreds of common requests served on a Fortune 50 consumer product client involved in multi-jurisdictional litigation for over 50 years. This system enabled the cost-efficient preparation of consistent and accurate discovery responses and disclosures to more than several thousand discovery requests.

Assisted in coordinating and drafting responses to discovery requests in smoking and health litigation in connection with King & Spalding’s role as national discovery counsel for a cigarette manufacturer.

Conducted training and mentoring of attorneys in multiple matters involving tobacco products, and other manufacturing companies, including instruction on case background, client industry-specific issues, and utilization of electronic review databases.

Assisted in all aspects of discovery in defense of several manufacturers in nationwide products liability litigation, including drafting responses to document requests/interrogatories, developing document collection scope statements, drafting document retention analyses, identifying key custodians, collecting hard copy and electronic documents, reviewing documents for responsiveness, privilege and confidentiality, producing responsive documents, and providing “defensive needs” support to merits counsel.

Assisted in preparing privilege logs of more than 7,000 entries and assisted in managing a team of attorneys in the review of documents for a client defending bankruptcy-related actions.

Assisted in review of toxic tort matter representing nearly 3 million pages of client documents.

Supervised and managed a team of attorneys in the review of documents in connection with breach of license agreements and antitrust laws.

Supervised and managed a team of attorneys in a review of documents for consumer product manufacturer of a well-known botulinum toxin product.

Assisted in supervising and managing the review of documents, production of information, creation of privilege log and management of information in connection with deposition preparation on behalf of an energy services provider bringing breach of contract, patent infringement, trade secrets and misappropriation claims.

Litigation Technology Experience

Due to Ms. Evans’ extensive knowledge and experience supervising and training attorney review teams and collecting, reviewing and producing documents, she has become familiar with many litigation support systems including Relativity, FTI’s Ringtail, TCDI’s Clarvergence, Concordance, IPro and Microsoft Access.
