Garrett Johnson

concentrates his practice on the preparation and trial, before federal and state courts and administrative agencies, of cases involving broad range of business-oriented substantive law issues, including securities and futures (fraud, market manipulation, insider trading), antitrust (monopolization, mergers, price-fixing), bankruptcy avoidance (preference, fraudulent conveyance), environmental tort, products liability, fiduciary responsibilities, breach of contract, defamation and lender liability. He counsels clients on corporate and securities issues such as Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, public disclosure obligations, major corporate transactions; government regulatory matters including financial market trading practices; antitrust issues including marketing practices, distribution arrangements, mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures.

He has been a partner of the Firm since 1978.

Garrett was profiled in Lawyer Lets Facts Do the Talking for his string of high-profile victories. In Motorola Defeats Huge Property Damage Claim and Overcoming a Hurdle With Public Property Records, The National Law Journal profiled Garrett's class action win for our client, Motorola.

Chambers USA, America's Leading Lawyers for Business again selected him as a leading litigator in its 2009 and 2010 editions.

Garrett has been selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America.

Garrett was also selected by Super Lawyers magazine as an "Illinois Super Lawyer".

Garrett appears in the July issue of Corporate Board Member magazine's America's Best Corporate Lawyers. Recognized for his commitment to outstanding client service, Garrett was again nominated to the BTI Client Service All-Star Team in 2007.

He co-authored Proportional Trading Model Precluded, regarding the Daubert ruling in Kaufman v. Motorola.
