Gary H. Glaser

Mr. Glaser is a partner in the New York office practicing in the area of labor and employment law and litigation. Mr. Glaser represents a broad base of clients in industries such as financial services, fashion retail, staffing, theater and the arts, and does so in all aspects of labor and employment relations law and related litigation, including social networking in the workplace, drafting of employment contract and litigating contractual disputes, wage and hour and employee/independent contractor classification issues, wrongful discharge, sexual and other harassment, and age, race, national origin, religious, sex and disability discrimination, as well as management training regarding these issues including, but not limited to, sexual harassment and other EEO, employee relations and labor law issues. He has over 25 years of experience litigating cases in federal and state court and before both federal and state administrative agencies, including both bench and jury trials and arbitrations before the NASD/FINRA, the American Arbitration Association and the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service. Mr. Glaser also has extensive experience counseling and representing clients in litigation involving corporate espionage, noncompete/restrictive covenants and trade secrets issues (including as the latter issue intersects with social networking). He has extensive experience providing training to clients on all of the foregoing issues and also advises clients on strategic labor and employment issues that have an impact on mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate reorganizations. Mr. Glaser also has over 25 years of experience handling the complete range of employee relations issues in both the unionized and non-union environment, including counseling and representing clients in connection with their union-management relations issues: in the context of conducting labor negotiations and arbitrations, by representing clients in representation and unfair labor practice hearings and litigation before the National Labor Relations Board, and in advising clients on “positive employee relations” and the maintenance of a union-free environment. In this latter context, he also has substantial experience representing and defending clients in response to union “corporate campaigns”.

Prior to joining Seyfarth Shaw LLP, Mr. Glaser spent eighteen years practicing labor and employment law and litigation with three major New York law firms. He also served as a field attorney with the Boston regional office of the National Labor Relations Board; he still maintains an active practice in Massachusetts as well.

Mr. Glaser is also a member of Seyfarth Shaw’s rock band, “Bill Early and The Collections,” which placed in the top five in the eighth, ninth and tenth annual Battle of the Law Firm Bands, held in Washington, D.C. in the summers of 2011, 2012 and 2013.
