Gary R. Chadick

Gary R. Chadick joins McKenna Long & Aldridge's Government Contracts department where he will focus his practice on providing counseling and services regarding ethics and compliance programs, corporate governance best practices and the responsibilities of the General Counsel and Corporate Secretary.

As a former General Counsel and Secretary for a large public company, Mr. Chadick has extensive knowledge and experience with developing effective ethics and compliance programs and implementing best practices with respect to the responsibilities of Boards of Directors and public companies as well as corporate government practices. He also has extensive law department management skills including concentrated experience in developing processes for effectively engaging and managing outside counsel.

Most recently Mr. Chadick served for nearly 13 years as the Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary at Rockwell Collins Inc., a large U.S.-based international company specializing in avionics, communications and information management. In this role, he was responsible for the services provided by the Office of the General Counsel, which included providing global legal services and advice, overseeing the Ethics and Ombudsman Programs as well as the company's anti-corruption compliance activities. Additionally, he attended all of the company's Board of Directors and Board Committee meetings from July 2001 – February 2014 and worked with the Board and Management to implement corporate governance best practices.

During his tenure, Rockwell Collins was selected as one of the World's Most Ethical Companies by Ethisphere Institute for five consecutive years and in 2012, the Law Group at Rockwell Collins was selected as an "ACC Value Champion" by the Association of Corporate Counsel for re-engineering its processes utilized for the selection, engagement, management and evaluation of outside counsel as well as its use of alternative fee arrangements.

Previously, Mr. Chadick served as Assistant General Counsel, Operations at Litton Industries, Inc. Prior to this position, he served as Group Counsel of Litton's Advanced Electronics Systems Group and Division Counsel of its Guidance and Controls Systems Division. During his nine years at Litton, he successfully handled a variety of complex commercial and government contracts counseling and litigation matters.

Mr. Chadick began his career in private practice as an associate in McKenna's (then McKenna & Cuneo) Los Angeles office focusing on government contracts counseling, litigation and claims.
