Gerald Rath conducts a general securities litigation and regulatory practice with a particular focus on the representation of broker-dealers, investment companies and investment advisers. He is past chair of the Broker-Dealer Practice Group and present chair of the firm’s Committee on Client Engagements.

Jerry has received several public or quasi-public appointments in his area of practice. For example, he has on three occasions been appointed by the Securities and Exchange Commission to oversee the activities of investment managers with whom they have settled cases (Ivan F. Boesky, Magten Asset Management and Reservoir Capital Management). Jerry also was appointed by the board of directors of the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority to develop conflict-of-interest guidelines for the selection of financial advisers, underwriters and bond counsel.
