Glen Reed

chairs King & Spalding's Healthcare Industry Group. Mr. Reed is a Past President of the American Health Lawyers Association. He served as co-chair of the first two American Health Lawyers Association conferences on healthcare reform in 2010, and he is a member of the King & Spalding Healthcare Reform Task Force. His practice concentrates on the general representation of healthcare systems, on specialized regulatory support to healthcare technology, pharmaceutical and device companies, and on specialized projects involving compliance planning, healthcare industry restructuring, reimbursement, fraud and abuse, antitrust, managed care, healthcare policy and new service development. Mr. Reed's practice has included assistance to several provider organizations in achieving more favorable contractual relationships with payors and enforcing payor/provider contracts. His practice has also included assistance to clients with compliance self-assessments and remedial actions, clinical and business integration, physician compensation compliance assessments, and the addition of existing hospitals to nonprofit systems.

Mr. Reed has served on the Healthcare Economic Development task force of the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Reed was the legal consultant to Governor Miller’s Commission on Health Care. He is a member of the Dean’s Council of the Emory University School of Public Health. Mr. Reed has served as President of the Georgia Academy of Healthcare Attorneys. He has served as Chairman of the Board of Visiting Nurse Health System, Inc., as President of the Atlanta Alliance on Developmental Disabilities, as Chairman of MedShare International, and as Chairman of Georgia Community Support and Solutions.

Mr. Reed has lectured extensively on healthcare industry legal matters. He served for six years as chair of the annual seminar Fundamentals of Healthcare Law, and he has provided the Legal Update at the Georgia Society of CPAs and Georgia HFMA Healthcare Conference each year since 1998. He was cited as one of the Most Influential Atlantans in the Atlanta Business Chronicle's Reader’s Choice column. Mr. Reed has been listed in the publications Georgia Super Lawyers, Georgia Trend Magazine Legal Elite, The Best Lawyers in America, Chambers USA Guide to America’s Leading Business Lawyers, Legal Media Group Guide to the Leading U.S. Healthcare Lawyers, Who’s Who in American Law and Who’s Who in the World. He was appointed to the initial class of Fellows of the American Health Lawyers Association, and was also a recipient of its David J. Greenburg Award. He was among thirty-two healthcare lawyers listed in the Legal Media Group publication entitled Best of the Best USA in 2007, 2009 and 2011. He was among twelve healthcare lawyers recognized as Outstanding Hospital Lawyers-2007 by Nightingale Healthcare News. The publication The Best Lawyers in America named him the Healthcare Lawyer of the Year for Atlanta in 2010. He is a graduate of the University of Tennessee and the Yale Law School.
