Greg Riddle,

a partner in the San Francisco office, is a member of the Tax Group. Mr. Riddle has practiced for more than 28 years. He practices in the corporate and partnership tax areas and has special expertise in the income and transactional tax issues of domestic and international project finance. He was recently recognized in LMG's Clean Tech 100 list of practitioners.

Current representative transactions include advising:

Four utilities (including two municipal utilities) developing a 100 MW wind-generating project to be sold to a tax-oriented investor with the power purchased back. The utilities will prepay for a portion of the power using, in the case of municipal utilities, proceeds of tax-exempt bonds.
Two large wind developers of wind projects located throughout the United States in partnership flip transactions intended to satisfy the requirements of Revenue Procedure 2007-65.
A solar company on structuring its investments in the United States, Europe and Canada, as well as the overall structure of the company in order to maximize the use of the new renewable energy grant, avoid recapture of the grants and monetize depreciation (including bonus depreciation) benefits.
Numerous solar developers of large and small solar and other renewables projects.
The sponsors for the development, construction and financing of the Capital Beltway HOT Lanes in Virginia Project, involving the largest private equity investment to date in a U.S. greenfield toll road project.
