Gregory N. Pimstone

Greg Pimstone is a partner in Manatt's Los Angeles office, chair of the firm's national Healthcare Litigation practice and a member of the firm's Board of Directors and Compensation Committee.

Greg is a nationally recognized healthcare litigator. The Daily Journal has recognized him on three separate occasions in its listing of the "Top 100 Attorneys" in California. Chambers USA - America's Leading Business Lawyers, The Best Lawyers in America and Southern California Super Lawyers have repeatedly recognized Greg as one of the state's leading healthcare attorneys. Greg co-authors the "Health Insurance and Managed Care" chapter of The Rutter Group's California Practice Guide on Insurance Litigation, authors the "ERISA Litigation" chapter of the BNA treatise, Recent Developments in Managed Care Litigation, and has taught Health Law at the University of California, Berkeley School of Law (Boalt Hall).

Greg has been lead counsel in numerous high-profile cases, including several landmark decisions that have established new precedent in the healthcare field. He has represented, at trial and on appeal, managed care health plans, health insurers, trade associations, medical providers and other healthcare sector companies in RICO, consumer and unfair competition class actions; government criminal and civil audits, investigations and enforcement actions; ERISA suits; fraud and abuse and qui tam actions; bad faith denial of benefits suits and policy rescission investigations and actions; HIPAA and other privacy matters; antitrust disputes; product liability actions; and pharmaceutical litigation.

In addition to his client work, Greg sits on the Board of Directors of the Constitutional Rights Foundation.

Greg is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley, where he majored in Biology and Political Science. He remained at Berkeley for law school, graduating from Boalt Hall, where he was awarded several academic prizes and worked with Professor Sanford ("Sandy") Kadish on his textbook, Criminal Law and Its Processes.
