Haidee L. Schwartz

Haidee Schwartz is a counsel in O'Melveny's Washington, DC office and a member of the Antitrust and Competition Practice. She focuses on antitrust merger analyses and investigations, agency conduct investigations, and private antitrust litigation. She also has worked on consumer protection issues, including those related to agency rulemaking proceedings.

Haidee has conducted complex antitrust analyses and provided antitrust counseling to corporate clients on significant merger investigations by the Department of Justice and Federal Trade Commission, including serving as a core member of trial team defending against the Federal Trade Commission’s motion for a preliminary injunction to block a merger. She also has defended clients involved in Department of Justice and Federal Trade Commission conduct investigations. In representing clients before the antitrust agencies, Haidee has worked closely with economists, business executives, state and international counsel, and third parties. Further, Haidee has represented clients in complex antitrust litigations.

Prior to joining O’Melveny, Haidee was a Senior Vice President at Powell Tate/Weber Shandwick, an international public affairs agency. In her work at Powell Tate/Weber Shandwick, Haidee directed corporate communication initiatives and provided strategic counsel for leading global and national corporations and associations, with expertise in crisis communication, government investigations, transactions involving regulatory oversight, and public policy issues. During her tenure at Powell Tate, she successfully helped her clients navigate the issues surrounding transactions valued at US$300 million to more than US$37 billion involving regulatory reviews by the Department of Justice, the Federal Trade Commission, the Federal Communications Commission, the Department of Transportation, and the Committee on Foreign Investments in the United States (CFIUS), as well as congressional scrutiny. Haidee also advised and managed the communications programs for clients related to federal and state government investigations.
