Halima is a trusted advisor to employers nationwide. She is the firm’s primary contact attorney with respect to several Fortune 500 companies and other businesses. On behalf of employers, she conducts investigations and provides advice and training. She also represents companies in litigation and before government agencies including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and state human rights commissions.

Halima conducts high-level investigations and occasionally interviews witnesses in Spanish. Recently, she traveled within the United States and to China, India and Sweden to train a client’s managers on how to conduct effective ethics and compliance investigations. She has trained hundreds of managers on employment law issues.

Within the employment arena, she focuses on wage and hour matters, including putative collective and class action overtime pay claims. She also focuses on discrimination, harassment, retaliation and leave and accommodation issues among others. Outside of employment law, she has defended against a wrongful death claim, identity theft claims and a Stored Communications Act claim.
In addition to her employment practice, Halima is a trained and registered mediator who helps parties settle disputes. Often it is better for parties to determine their own outcome than to leave their fates in the hands of others. She facilitates a process to help parties reach their own settlements with respect to a variety of claims.
