Harlan P. Cohen is a partner in the Dallas office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher and a member of the firm's Corporate and Global Finance Practice Groups. He is consistently recognized as one of The Best Lawyers in America® (2006-2015) for corporate and public finance law.
Mr. Cohen represents private equity firms, corporations and other clients in acquisitions and sales of companies, private equity investments and joint venture arrangements, and general corporate matters and financings, including securities, mergers and acquisitions, and general corporate finance.
Mr. Cohen also represents financial institutions and investors in financing the acquisition and disposition of real estate and in refinancings, including financings and refinancings involving pools of real estate projects and the securitization of mortgage instruments.
Prior to joining Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher in 1998, Mr. Cohen practiced with Locke Purnell Rain Harrell in Dallas. He earned his law degree cum laude in 1974 from Harvard Law School and his undergraduate degree magna cum laude in 1970 from Harvard College, where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
