J. Michael Wilson’s practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, including breach of contract, corporate transactions, business torts, employment discrimination and product liability.

Michael’s recent experience involves representation of corporate clients in various types of complex commercial disputes. Michael represented Panhandle Eastern Pipe Line Company, L.P., an interstate natural gas company, in its efforts to recover more than $50 million in cost overruns resulting from construction problems on a pipeline expansion project, including a four-week trial that ultimately concluded with a settlement. Michael also defended CrossCountry Energy, LLC and Southern Union Company in a Delaware action against claims brought by a major energy corporation asserting a right of first refusal to key assets involved in a multi-billion dollar corporate merger, obtaining an agreed judgment denying all relief sought by the opposing party and declaring that no right of first refusal existed. Michael has also represented Florida Gas Transmission Company, LLC, another interstate natural gas company, in its efforts to recover costs for lost-and-unaccounted-for gas that another natural gas transmission company had improperly charged in violation of the parties’ contract, obtaining a summary judgment finding that such costs were inappropriate.

In addition, Michael has also handled a number of matters involving employment discrimination and toxic torts and products liability. Michael has been listed in Texas Super Lawyers as a “Rising Star” for 2013.
