James C. Dunlop

Jim Dunlop represents organizations and individuals in criminal and civil investigations and enforcement proceedings on a global basis. Jim also counsels and conducts internal investigations and cross-border due diligence for companies concerned about corrupt practices prohibited by the FCPA and UK Bribery Act, fraud, other criminal and civil compliance, and unethical conduct. A significant component of Jim's practice involves Brazil, where he has represented companies in both U.S. and Brazilian based prosecutions, and conducted internal investigations and anti-corruption due diligence.

Jim has also represented companies and individuals in the energy, retail, manufacturing, and pharmaceutical sectors in FCPA investigations in Latin America and Europe and in cartel investigations spanning the U.S., Europe, Asia, and the Pacific, and he has led anti-corruption due diligence and compliance assessments for companies worldwide. Domestic representations include the former CEO of a public utility sued by the SEC following a DOJ criminal probe, a Wall Street bank in a lengthy public corruption investigation, and companies and individuals who were the targets of price-fixing and fraud prosecutions led by the DOJ and SEC. In addition, Jim has led internal investigations of alleged computer fraud and trade secret theft, alleged self-dealing by company executives, and probes of alleged accounting fraud at a drug company and within a multistate hospital network.

Jim is a member of the Chicago Council on Global Affairs, the Federalist Society, where he serves on the board of the criminal law practice group, the Wong Sun Society, and the Oxford Union.
