James McGrath's practice focuses on litigation and counseling related to general commercial litigation, antitrust and trade regulation issues, and energy-related matters. He is a member of the firm's Antitrust and Trade Regulation and Financial Services Litigation practice groups. He also co-chairs the firm's Distribution and Franchise industry group and is a member of the firm's Energy industry group. James is an experienced trial lawyer, having tried cases, argued appeals and appeared before a variety of state and federal courts and administrative agencies throughout the United States.

In the antitrust and distribution area, James represents numerous manufacturers, distributors and trade organizations on a wide variety of matters, many involving the transportation industry. Most recently, he obtained significant victories in the area of motor vehicle warranty reimbursement litigation before the Courts of Appeals for the First and Second Circuits. He also advises clients on various legislative matters affecting the motor vehicle industry. James has been named aBest Lawyer in Americain the area of Franchise Law.

In energy-related matters, James has represented various industry participants in litigation, regulatory, and construction disputes. Among others, he routinely represents a leading supplier of wholesale and retail energy products and services on a wide variety of litigation and counseling matters.
