James E. D’Elicio’s practice focuses on complex civil litigation. He works primarily in the area of securities litigation.

Recently, he has represented clients who are involved in disputes arising out of the housing market crisis. He is advising several clients who invested in or were otherwise exposed to asset-backed securities and collateralized debt obligations as they seek redress for the misrepresentations and breaches of warranties written into those financial products by the financial institutions that offered them.

James’s other representations have included: successfully litigating several cases on behalf of a German-Italian bank facing lawsuits from high net-worth individuals who had participated in impermissible tax shelters; defending a major energy company through trial against criminal allegations and representing a hedge fund through trial as it sought to recover for auditor malfeasance.

In addition, James also has represented several clients seeking asylum status in the United States through the firm’s pro bono program.
