James F. Owens is a chair of the Healthcare practice of Paul Hastings and is based in the firm’s Los Angeles office. Counsel to a variety of non-profit and for-profit healthcare businesses, his clients include multi-facility health systems, freestanding hospitals, nonprofit medical foundations, health plans, large medical groups and medical device companies. He focuses on transactions and regulatory advice, and he has practiced healthcare law for over 25 years.

Mr. Owens has substantive experience in corporate and business law, healthcare, mergers, acquisitions and affiliations, managed care contracting, and healthcare joint ventures. He regularly counsels clients on compliance with state and federal healthcare fraud and abuse laws. He also is a leading practitioner in California on hospital and health system acquisitions and affiliations and physician/hospital integration matters.
