Jim has extensive experience in complex taxable and tax-exempt debt capital and corporate finance transactions across a range of industry groups, including healthcare, retail, business services, media and entertainment, sports and consumer products. His practice focuses on domestic and multicurrency syndicated loans, leveraged acquisitions, and leveraged recapitalizations and restructurings.

Jim has decades of experience serving as lead arranger, administrative agent and lender's counsel in United States domestic and cross-border syndicated, club and bilateral credit facilities. He is a member of the Primary Markets Committee of Loan Syndications and Trading Association, and has extensive experience counseling leading market participants on drafting and policy matters. As counsel to the firm, Jim provides consulting support to the firm's debt finance lawyers.

Jim was a law clerk for the honorable James B. McMillan of the U.S. District Court of the Western District of North Carolina.
