Jim Salerno advises financial institutions, sponsors, developers, and borrowers in a broad range of financial transactions in the United States and Latin America, with a particular emphasis on transactions in the energy sector (including renewable energy, alternative energy, and fossil fuel energy), project-related and infrastructure financings, financings of acquisitions by private equity clients, and recapitalizations and debt restructurings of public and private entities.

Jim represents Standard Bank Plc as well as Calgary-based and Houston-based developers in a number of significant cross-border oil and gas and other energy-related financial transactions in Latin America and other emerging markets. Energy clients for which Jim regularly works in the project and infrastructure area include AREVA and NRG. He represents KeyBank, among other financial institutions, on a number of syndicated renewable energy project financings. In the private-public partnership market for infrastructure, Jim represents major financial institutions, developers, and public institutions on all aspects of debt financing.

Jim has given a number of presentations on the U.S. Department of Energy's Loan Guarantee Program and its impact on financing energy-related projects.
