In addition to trying cases to successful verdict in federal and state courts, Jason has protected clients' interests in numerous appeals.
Recently, Jason and a Jones Day team represented R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company in an arbitration proceeding against dozens of states, relating to the states' performance of their obligations under the Master Settlement Agreement. Jason also represented Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan Inc. in its successful defense of a $40 billion hostile tender offer from mining giant BHP Billiton. In the field of intellectual property litigation, Jason has been counsel for innovator pharmaceutical companies in more than 30 patent infringement actions brought under the Hatch Waxman Act, involving significant products such as AndroGel, Depakote, Revlimid, Focalin, Ritalin, Nimbex, and Prezista. In addition to preparing such matters for trial, he has handled the complex negotiation and implementation of global settlements.
