Jay Ptashek

joined Kirkland as a partner in July of 2009 after eight years as a partner at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP. He is resident in the Firm's New York office and his practice focuses on syndicated senior debt and bridge loan financings primarily in the leveraged acquisition finance area. He also counsels clients in debt restructuring and general corporate finance matters.

Chambers and Partners’ 2014 guides to lawyers and law firms call Jay “fantastic” and describe him as “a smart lawyer who is able to think through the business issues” with a “very commercial” approach.
