Jean serves as counsel in the Washington, D.C. and Los Angles offices of Reed Smith. Jean has a background in litigating and advising clients on all aspects of employment law including discrimination, wrongful termination; workplace harassment; retaliation; unfair competition; wage and hour; disability access and accommodation rights; and trade secret issues.
Jean represents national employers in both federal and state courts and in arbitration throughout the country. She has experience with class actions and multi-district litigation, including lawsuits involving wage calculation and payment issues, entitlement to overtime and benefits, off-the-clock claims, and challenges to exempt status. She also routinely represents clients before various government agencies and entities including: the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing, the California Division of Labor Standards Enforcement, the District of Columbia Office of Employee Appeals, the District of Columbia Office of Human Rights, the National Labor Relations Board and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
Jean was named a 2004 Southern California Super Lawyers Rising Star in labor and employment law by her peers and the editors of Law & Politics and Los Angeles Magazines.
