Jeffrey A. Cooper

Jeffrey Cooper is a partner in the firm’s Intellectual Property Group, where he focuses his practice on assisting clients in protecting and maximizing the value of their innovations and other intellectual property. He has considerable experience counseling companies and inventors of all sizes from individuals to major corporations.

Mr. Cooper regularly prepares and prosecutes patents before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office involving mechanical and medical devices as well as computer/software and business method technologies. In addition, Mr. Cooper counsels clients in strategies for effectively managing their patent portfolios while avoiding patent portfolios of others. He also opines on the infringement and/or invalidity issues.

His prior experience as an engineer within the automotive industry has provided Mr. Cooper a working knowledge of various manufacturing processes including grey iron casting, aluminum die casting, forging, plastic injection molding, powder metal processes, machining, automated assembly, among others.

Mr. Cooper received his J.D., summa cum laude, in 2003 from Florida State University College of Law, where he was a member of the Florida State University Law Review. Mr. Cooper earned his B.S.M.E. in 1989 from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
