Jeff Schlegel is co-head of the Firm's global Energy Practice and has extensive experience in international and domestic M&A, project development, securities, and finance transactions for energy industry participants, particularly in oil and gas, chemicals/petrochemicals, and energy-related infrastructure. His project development experience encompasses transactional, structuring, engineering, procurement, construction, operations, and other commercial arrangements. Jeff also has represented domestic and multinational companies in a variety of public and private transactions, including inbound and outbound investment, and cross-border transactions in a wide variety of industries in Europe, Latin America, Asia, Africa, and North America.

Jeff's recent engagements include almost $65 billion of upstream and midstream energy projects, joint ventures, acquisitions, dispositions, and financings, particularly in the U.S. active oil and gas shale plays; LNG import and export projects and transactions in North America, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia; refinery and other downstream transactions in the U.S. and the Asia/Pacific region; the development of multiple world-scale facilities; and oil field services transactions in the U.S., Africa, the Middle East, and Europe.

Jeff is a member of the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators, a past chair of the International Section of the Institute for Energy Law, a regular speaker at energy conferences, and a past editor of the Texas Transnational Law Quarterly, published by the State Bar of Texas.
