Jeffrey J. Temple

Jeff Temple is a partner in the firm's Real Estate Group. He represents a broad spectrum of clients in connection with investments in, and the financing, development, operation and disposition of, commercial real estate assets, with particular emphasis on the representation of institutional lenders, real estate investment fund sponsors and private equity investors.

Recently, Mr. Temple's practice has concentrated on the representation of both lenders and borrowers in complex, multi-tiered finance transactions and credit facilities of all types, including transactions involving the acquisition and disposition of real estate assets and the acquisition and sale of loans and loan portfolios. Mr. Temple regularly represents financial institutions and private equity funds in connection with syndicated credit facilities, construction loans, preferred equity investments, A/B notes and participation arrangements, mezzanine financings, note purchase transactions and intercreditor and co-lending arrangements involving major office, residential, hospitality and mixed use projects.

In the current economic downturn, Mr. Temple is actively representing clients in a broad variety of loan restructurings and workouts as well as the exercise of both UCC and mortgage remedies with respect to problem loans and the restructuring of troubled joint ventures and other distressed real estate investments. During the 1990's, Mr. Temple was heavily involved in a number of high profile restructurings, including those involving Olympia & York, Larry Silverstein, Trammell Crow, Linpro and William Zeckendorf.

Mr. Temple also actively represents U.S. opportunity fund investors making strategic acquisitions and forming joint ventures with local partners in the United States, Europe and Asia. He also spends significant time representing foreign institutions making in-bound investments in U.S. commercial real estate. Following the formation of joint ventures for his clients, Mr. Temple has continued to represent these ventures in numerous complex acquisitions, financings and subsequent dispositions.

Mr. Temple also represents owners, developers and investors in office buildings, hotels and other commercial properties in the development, acquisition, management, leasing and disposition of such commercial properties.
