Jeffrey Kurzweil

Mr. Kurzweil focuses his practice on public policy and related business issues. He has been particularly involved as an advisor to major hotel companies. Mr. Kurzweil successfully has represented clients on significant matters where complex and sometimes contentious, legal, business, and policy-related challenges have been involved.

Mr. Kurzweil's clients have included market-leading international hospitality chains, a leading communications company, leading national security-related technology companies, global and market-leading private equity firms, the world's leading food service and facilities management company, global real estate developers, major gaming operators, national retirement housing providers, colleges, and universities.

Mr. Kurzweil has decades of legal, public policy, and government relations experience, and he has been recognized as one of the top lawyer-lobbyists in Washington, DC.

Activities
Mr. Kurzweil has served on a number of boards of directors, both for-profit and nonprofit organizations.

Currently, he serves on the Board of Directors of JWM Family Enterprises, a Marriott-family, privately owned business entity, and, until November 2009, had been a member of the Board of Directors of Cowen Group, Inc., a publicly traded investment bank.

Mr. Kurzweil also serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of Lynchburg College.

He is a former member of the Board of Trustees of Duke University.

Mr. Kurzweil is also a former member of The Best Friends Foundation, and served on the Executive Committee as the Treasurer of the Foundation.

He also served on the Board of Visitors of Johnson C. Smith University, the Alumni Board of Vanderbilt University Law School, and the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of the American Schools of Oriental Research.
