Jeffrey M. Stein

Jeff Stein

is a partner in the Atlanta office of King & Spalding, practicing in the Corporate Practice Group. He advises public companies regarding finance transactions, corporate governance and SEC reporting and compliance. Mr. Stein has experience in a broad range of public offerings and other corporate finance transactions, as well as swaps and derivatives.

As part of his focus on corporate governance, Mr. Stein has been active in the firm's Lead Director Network and its Southeast Board Leadership Network, both of which are groups of lead directors, presiding directors and non-executive chairman that meet to discuss how effective board leadership can improve corporate performance. Mr. Stein has written numerous articles on board leadership, and is a Guest Contributor to the Harvard Law School Forum on Corporate Governance and Financial Regulation. He has been listed by Chambers as one of America’s Leading Lawyers since 2003.

Mr. Stein graduated from Yeshiva University with a B.A. in 1977 and received his J.D. from Harvard University in 1980. He practiced in New York City from October 1980 until January 1985. He joined King & Spalding in 1985 and became a partner in 1988. Mr. Stein is admitted to practice in Georgia and New York.
