Jeffrey R. Strenkowski

Jeff Strenkowski helps telecommunications carriers and Internet service providers navigate federal and state regulation of their services. Jeff works primarily with providers of emerging communications and computer technologies such as Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), broadband, and other advanced services, and he advises clients on regulatory issues that arise on the federal and state level relating to the provision of these services. Since 2006, Jeff has co-authored dozens of articles and client advisories related to the regulation of VoIP and other advanced services.

Jeff also advises communications carriers, venture capitalists and other clients navigate state and federal approvals for complex corporate transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, debt issuances and other financing arrangements. In that role he helps clients navigate CFIUS, Team Telecom, and other foreign ownership issues that arise in such transactions. He also assists clients on state and federal 911, telephone numbering, intercarrier compensation, USF, TRS, net neutrality, and other regulatory compliance matters. He also advises carriers, Internet content providers, application developers, and other telecommunications, media and technology clients on state, federal and international privacy, data security, data retention, emergency access, numbering, and related consumer protection matters. Jeff also represents clients in federal and state rulemaking and complaint proceedings, and in contractual issues concerning telecommunications and related advanced technology industries.

In law school Jeff was a member of the executive board of the Administrative Law Review, the official law journal of the American Bar Association’s Section of Administrative Law and Regulatory Practice. He has also taught evening classes at American University as an adjunct professor.
