Jennifer Levin

Ms. Levin is a member of the firm’s Commercial Litigation Group and has significant experience defending clients in a variety of business disputes, including complex commercial cases and consumer class actions. She has litigated numerous cases in state and federal court, and before alternative dispute resolution tribunals. She is experienced in handling the legal issues associated with preserving, processing and producing electronically stored information as well.

Ms. Levin also has extensive experience with Proposition 65 (“Prop 65”). She frequently represents manufacturers, distributors, retailers, and facilities in defending against Prop 65 claims.

She represents clients across a wide range of industries including consumer products and services, retail, dietary supplements, and credit counseling. Ms. Levin also represents clients in the entertainment industry, including motion picture studios.

Significant Matters

Defeated a consumer class action concerning false advertising and unfair competition claims for a national sports nutrition company. The plaintiffs were seeking millions of dollars for a nationwide class of consumers who purchased dietary supplements. The products contained an ingredient known as DMAA, which Plaintiffs contended was dangerous and required FDA approval.
Defended a global retailer in a group of California class actions alleging Song-Beverly Credit Card violations concerning collection of personal identification information, including zip codes, from consumers during point of sale.
Successfully defended a conference promotion company against a preliminary injunction relating to Plaintiffs’ claims that Defendants were in violation of the parties’ business arrangement concerning production of motivational speaking seminars.
Obtained a preliminary injunction against a media affiliate who defrauded a client, an international direct advertiser.
Secured favorable settlement for a credit counseling company in a California consumer class action regarding whether the company is a valid non-profit, and thus subject to the requirements of the CROA statute.
Represented a well-known entertainment agency in a lengthy binding arbitration in a commission dispute with talent.
