Jessica E. Morrison

Jessi practices in the area of government, regulatory and criminal investigations representing corporate and individual clients in government and internal audits and investigations both in the United States and around the world. Her experience includes defending clients in investigations and enforcement actions by the Department of Justice, the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board, the Department of the Treasury, and various state agencies.

Jessi also practices in the area of commercial litigation. She has first and second-chaired bench and jury trials, and has written and argued a variety of motions and appeals in state and federal courts. She has worked on multiple class actions and regularly manages substantial e-discovery projects.

Jessi is also the Baltimore office pro bono co-partner.

Prior to joining McGuireWoods, Jessi was a law clerk for the Honorable Marvin J. Garbis, U.S. District Court Judge for the District of Maryland. While attending law school, she was a student lawyer at the Georgetown Domestic Violence Clinic and earned The Georgetown Domestic Violence Clinic Outstanding Advocate Award. She was also a recipient of CALI Awards for Academic Excellence in Economic Reasoning and the Law and Can Good Lawyers Be Good Ethical Deliberators? and an ABA/BNA Award for Excellence in the Study of Labor and Employment Law. She served as president and vice president of Phi Sigma Tau Philosophy Honor Society and received departmental honors in philosophy at Washington College, where she completed her honors thesis on “The Impact of Non-Euclidean Geometry on the Philosophy of Immanuel Kant.”
