Jian Hang

JIAN HANG is the principal of Hang & Associates, PLLC. Mr. Hang’s practice focuses on corporate, employment, immigration and litigation.

Mr. Hang has almost ten years of professional experience in corporate practice areas such as business formation, negotiation and preparation of company agreements, mergers and acquisitions, and company legal compliance. He has counseled more than ten U.S. subsidiaries of Chinese companies doing business in the U.S, and local Chinese business on various corporate law matters and served as outside general counsel for some of these companies.

Mr. Hang used to practice law in China as a transactional attorney in the securities, mergers and acquisitions, and foreign direct investment practice areas. His experience included:

• A China national corporation’s offshore listings and $2 billion share bond offerings in the U.S. and Hong Kong;
• $2.1 million stock purchase of a China national equipment corporation; and
• $50 million stock purchase of a China national pharmacy company.

Mr. Hang has extensive experience in representing employers and individual employees, on the full range of employment law and related matters. Prior to founding Hang & Associates, PLLC, Mr. Hang practiced law in the Epstein Becker & Green, PC, one of the most well-recognized management-side labor and employment law boutique firms in the country. By establishing Hang & Associates, PLLC, Mr. Hang brings the experience he gained while representing many of the largest and well-known companies in the world to a variety of clients, including individual employees and emerging and established businesses of different sizes in various industries.

Mr. Hang advises and consults with clients in the drafting and negotiation of employment agreements and helps employers on the design, implementation and application of corporate personnel policies and employee handbooks. He has experience handling federal and state court actions in single-plaintiff, multi-plaintiff and class action suits, and related employment litigation involving Title VII, Pregnancy Discrimination Act, Equal Pay Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, Age Discrimination in Employment Act, Fair Labor Standards Act, trade secrets and restrictive covenants. He also represents small employers, such as restaurant and factory owners, and employees at all stages of wage and hour lawsuits involving minimum wage, breaks or overtime issues.

In addition to employment practice, Mr. Hang is dedicated to the practice of all aspects of U.S. immigration law, with a focus on business-related and employment-based US immigration law. He helps clients secure nonimmigrant visas, such as H-1B specialty occupation visas and L-1 intra-company transferee visas and obtain permanent residence status (green cards) for foreign employees. Particularly, he helps Chinese high profile investor clients pursue their goal of becoming a U.S. permanent resident through an EB-5 Green Card investment.

Mr. Hang is also a fierce and zealous litigator. He represents individual and corporate clients before state and federal courts, in arbitration and alternative dispute resolutions, and before administrative agencies and other forums involving various business and commercial disputes and criminal defense.

While attending the University of Arkansas at Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law, Mr. Hang was the Associate Editor of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Law Review. He was listed in Who’s Who Among American Law Students for 2004.

Mr. Hang lives in Long Island with his wife and son.
