Joanna "Joey" Meldrum is an associate in Holland & Knight's San Francisco office and a member of the firm's West Coast Land Use and Environment Group. Ms. Meldrum's practice focuses on environmental, land use, water and real estate law, and includes regulatory compliance, permitting and due diligence for project proponents and agencies. She is a leader in sustainable development and has been a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP) since 2008.

In addition to being a practicing attorney, Ms. Meldrum is a licensed civil engineer and professional geologist in California. Ms. Meldrum's law practice is informed by her more than 10 years of technical experience. Prior to law school she was a senior managing engineer at Exponent, and during law school interned at the California Coastal Commission, Gensler, and the San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Commission. While in graduate school, Ms. Meldrum worked on the Geoscience for Sustainable Communities and Economic Development Project in the Mackenzie Delta and contributed to research on the effect of global warming on the stability of permafrost.

Ms. Meldrum has technical knowledge in the areas of residential and commercial construction, environmental compliance and diligence for brownfield development, groundwater fate and transport, Underground Storage Tank (UST) remediation, corrosion of buried pipes and soil stability. Her graduate academic research focused on water chemistry and the geochemical properties of mine wastes.
