Joel S. Barras

Joel represents a variety of regional and national employers in collective bargaining, labor arbitration, and employment-related litigation. He is also labor counsel for a number of municipalities, representing them in their dealings with both union and non-union employees. He has served as presenter for numerous Act 111 interest arbitrations and frequently represents employers in grievance arbitrations. He regularly advises municipal clients regarding public sector labor laws, municipal codes and issues related to Act 47 distressed status.

In the private sector, Joel represents employers in the financial, construction, health care, waste management and public utility industry. He provides legal guidance and counseling to employers with both union and non-union employees.

Joel has published numerous articles and lectured extensively on all facets of private and public sector labor and employment law on behalf of numerous organizations.
