John C. Bush

John Bush's practice focuses on technology and intellectual property issues, particularly litigation to protect, prosecution to obtain, and licensing to leverage intellectual property assets. Mr. Bush is a registered patent attorney with a background in computer science.

The technology involved in Mr. Bush’s recent work includes electronic health records software, mobile reservation apps, testing devices for cable networks, and interactive call processing systems. His underlying legal matters range from patent litigation, to indemnification disputes, to licensing.

In law school, Mr. Bush, who received an honor scholarship, served as an articles editor of the Vanderbilt Law Review, as a member of the Moot Court Board, and as vice president of the Honor Council. He also interned with the Tennessee Supreme Court and the Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals. In college, Mr. Bush served terms as editorial page editor of The Chronicle, where he managed the editorial board and oversaw two full pages of content each weekday, and, later, online editor, where he led the consolidation of a paid 10-person programming and content staff into a single content editor. As a senior, Mr. Bush was a semifinalist for the Young Trustee position on the Duke University Board of Trustees.

Mr. Bush, a graduate of Lakeside High School in DeKalb County, is active in the State Bar of Georgia through serving on the Georgia Bar Journal’s Editorial Board and previously co-chairing the Young Lawyers Division’s Ethics & Professionalism Committee for two years. In 2010, Mr. Bush graduated from the YLD’s Leadership Academy, and from 2011-2014, he served as a YLD representative. Mr. Bush regularly participates in pro bono cases through Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation and the Cobb Justice Foundation.
