John Wilson

is a partner in King & Spalding’s Financial Institutions Practice in the New York Office.

Mr. Wilson’s practice focuses on representing fund sponsors in the structuring and formation of funds and other vehicles for investment in real estate. Mr. Wilson also regularly represents real estate fund sponsors, investment funds, public and private REITs, and other operators in corporate transactions, including the formation of new fund sponsors, mergers and acquisitions, strategic investments and joint ventures. He routinely counsels clients on exemptions and other compliance matters under the Investment Company Act of 1940 and the Investment Advisers Act of 1940. Mr. Wilson also has extensive experience in representing sponsors and investors in the formation of private equity funds.

Mr. Wilson received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Florida in 1994. Mr. Wilson received his law degree from the University of Florida in 1997, graduated with high honors, and was a member of the Florida Law Review and Order of the Coif.
