John Turlais is senior counsel and a litigation lawyer with Foley & Lardner LLP where he focuses on conducting internal investigations and defending corporate clients facing enforcement actions by the Department of Justice, Office of Thrift Supervision, U.S. Postal Inspection Service, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or other federal or state agencies. Mr. Turlais has conducted numerous internal investigations involving corporate compliance with government regulations and federal laws, as well as investigations relating to internal or external company matters, such as the disclosure of trade secrets, violations of non-compete agreements, and whistle-blower complaints. Mr. Turlais’ is a member of the firm's Government Enforcement, Compliance & White Collar Defense and Business Litigation & Dispute Resolution Practices and the Food & Beverage Industry Team.
Mr. Turlais also has experience in complex litigation and parallel litigation proceedings, in which he has represented clients in a wide array of commercial and corporate disputes.
Before joining Foley, Mr. Turlais co-founded ProjectLearn USA, Inc., an educational company that provided information and strategies on how to study more efficiently and effectively. He also worked as a senior investment analyst for The Littauer Group in Seoul, Korea, and played professional baseball in the Pittsburgh Pirates and New York Mets organizations.
