John P. Morrison

Pete Morrison is a partner in the Labor & Employment Practice Group. An experienced litigator, he regularly represents clients in federal and state court jury trials as well as multi-forum actions and emergency injunction proceedings across the U.S. He prosecutes and defends claims for breach of non-compete agreements, breach of contract and fiduciary duty, unfair competition, and trade secret misappropriation. Pete also defends discrimination and harassment claims involving race, pregnancy, sex, national origin, age and disability, retaliation, wrongful discharge, fraud, defamation, and claims under ERISA, NLRA, and all discrimination and employment statutes. He has experience working with employers in various industries including, healthcare, securities, financial and professional services, insurance, manufacturing, transportation, telecommunications, retail, direct marketing, food service, and restaurants.

Pete provides counsel on a range of labor and employment issues for both unionized and non-union employers including, discharge and discipline, disabilities accommodation, harassment and high level internal investigations, employment contracts, separation agreements and union collective bargaining agreements, union organizing campaigns, double-breasting, drug testing, subcontracting, strikes and picketing, plant closings, and compliance with WARN and other federal, state, and local laws regarding civil rights and employment.

He has served as lead counsel representing employers in arbitrations under the labor, commercial and construction rules of the American Arbitration Association, the New York Stock Exchange, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (formerly, National Association of Securities Dealers), and the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service. He also has handled administrative hearings before the OFCCP, DOT and various state agencies, proceedings before the EEOC and state human rights commissions, and proceedings before the NLRB. He has appeared in actions in state and federal trial courts throughout the U.S. and has been appointed Special Assistant Illinois Attorney General and Special Assistant State's Attorney for Labor Litigation.
