With 32 years of practice concentrated in tax controversies and complex litigation, John has in-depth experience in the tax controversy process, state and local taxation and trial and appellate advocacy. He has handled tax controversies before administrative bodies and federal and state courts, from the United States Supreme Court to local boards of equalization. John has been responsible for resolving major tax controversies involving income taxes, severance taxes, excise taxes, sales and use taxes, and property tax cases. John has managed many complex litigation matters, including several oil and gas cases.

In his management of complex litigation matters, John has supervised the document discovery and case document systems in many large document cases, and he has been active in e-discovery matters.
