John Burnite has more than 20 years of litigation experience, the last 15 of which have been dedicated to representing insurers in life, health and disability litigation matters.

John focuses on the defense of bad faith and punitive damage cases involving individual disability insurance policies. His practice also includes defending insurers in commercial and homeowner policy disputes. In addition, he has significant experience with group disability and life insurance claims under ERISA.

John places significant emphasis on minimizing the risk of extra-contractual damages and providing a cost-effective resolution, working closely with each client to ensure their best interests are served at every stage of a matter. John handles cases from inception through resolution by early dismissal, summary judgment, settlement or trial in California state and federal courts.
