Jon serves as a Partner in the firm’s Labor & Employment Litigation practice group. His primary focus is on defending state and federal employment, administrative and litigation matters, as well as advising management on all aspects of employment law issues.

Additionally, Jon drafts, defends and prosecutes restrictive covenant agreements and regularly litigates restrictive covenant, trade secret, fiduciary duty and asset theft issues. He defends ERISA litigation including STD, LTD, life insurance, health insurance and subrogation claims. Jon represents employers in regards to traditional labor disputes which includes collective bargaining agreement negotiations, arbitrations and unfair labor practice charges.

Jon's career includes previously serving as a Partner for Clark, Paul, Hoover & Mallard; Ford & Harrison LLP; Epstein, Becker & Green; and most recently, Ogletree Deakins. In addition to his extensive legal experience, Jon also has experience in sales, construction management and legal writing instruction.

Jon received his undergraduate degree from Western Illinois University (B.B., with honors, 1982) and his law degree (J.D., with honors, 1986) from the University of Florida College of Law.

Jon was named by Chambers USA as one of America’s Leading Attorneys for 6 consecutive years and is AV rated by Martindale Hubble. He is also the chairperson for the Human Resources Management Association of Gwinnett County, GA. He is also the chairperson of the annual Human Resources Management Association Labor & Employment Law seminar. Additionally, Jon has given more than 60 professional presentations to various human resources, management and attorney groups on a wide variety of Labor & Employment law topics including drug testing, workplace harassment and discrimination, the FMLA, WARNA, the ADA, restrictive covenants, severance, discrimination, harassment, and workplace violence.

In addition to his professional involvement, Jon has been a football coach in his community for 10 seasons.
