Jonathan M. Linas

Jon Linas's practice covers a wide variety of labor of employment matters, including litigation in both state and federal courts, administrative proceedings before federal and state administrative agencies, including the EEOC, NLRB, and state human rights divisions, and counseling clients on a wide variety of labor and employment-related issues. Jon has extensive experience defending employers against claims of employment discrimination, harassment, and retaliation, along with claims brought under federal and state wage-hour laws, family and medical leave laws, and ERISA. Additionally, a substantial portion of Jon's practice is devoted to defending clients against unfair labor practice charges and counseling employers on compliance with the National Labor Relations Act.

Jon has presented at seminars on topics such as employer retaliation and employee leave laws. He has contributed to secondary source materials concerning unfair labor practices and has authored an article concerning the applicability of the attorney-client privilege to public relations consultants in high-profile criminal cases.

Jon is also actively involved in the Chicago community. He tutors 6th and 7th grade Chicago Public School students as part of the MetroSquash program, which gives students the opportunity to combine academics and athletics in an after-school program that significantly impacts their lives and academic performance. He also participates in Chicago's Working in the Schools (WITS) program, which promotes literacy and the love of reading among Chicago's youth by providing one-on-one tutoring and mentoring to elementary school children in the CPS system.
