Jonathan Hightower focuses his practice in financial institutions law, including corporate, regulatory and securities work. Mr. Hightower regularly advises community banks and their boards of directors on their strategic plans, including sale transactions, strategic mergers and capital raises, as well as on complex regulatory issues. Recently, Mr. Hightower's active transactional practice significantly contributed to Bryan Cave's position on the top of the SNL league tables for Financial Institutions M&A for the first half of 2014. He primarily represents small to mid-sized community banks, including S Corporation community banks and bank holding companies.

Mr. Hightower's other experience includes SEC reporting advice; failed bank acquisitions; representations of directors and officers of financial institutions; bank holding company formations; and going-private transactions. His representation of financial institutions has spanned a broad geographic base, including representations in Georgia, Texas, Alabama, Louisiana, South Carolina, Florida, New York, Michigan, Arizona and California. Mr. Hightower has also been a frequent speaker, writer and press commentator on various banking issues, including capital planning for community banks.

Mr. Hightower is accredited to represent clients before the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs for pro bono cases.
