Jonathan Edwards is a senior associate in Alston & Bird’s Bankruptcy, Workouts & Reorganization Group. He represents a variety of clients in complex bankruptcy cases, out-of-court workouts, debt restructurings, asset dispositions, claims reconciliation, structured finance and complex commercial litigation.



Mr. Edwards has a multidisciplinary practice that focuses on assignments combining traditional restructuring advice with transactional and major litigation work. He represents and has represented purchasers, debtors and other parties in bankruptcy sales; secured and unsecured creditors; CDO, CMBS, RMBS and indenture trustees; CMBS master and special servicers and CDO collateral managers; defendants in avoidance actions; and other parties. He also counsels and represents officers, directors, Chapter 7 trustees and others in complex bankruptcy and commercial litigation. Mr. Edwards is also actively involved in advising clients regarding substantive nonconsolidation, safe harbor, and true sale opinions in structured finance deals.
